Oasis' Live Forever Named As Best British Song
Oasis claimed the top three positions in a poll of the best British songs of all time today.
Live Forever came in at number one, followed by Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger.
A fourth Oasis song, Champagne Supernova, also made it into the top 10.
The poll was voted for by several thousand Xfm listeners.
Paul Jackson, group programming director for The Xfm Network said: "Oasis undoubtedly has one of the most significant catalogues of all time."
The survey was dominated by the North of England, with the Stone Roses, The Verve, Joy Division and the Arctic Monkeys riding high as well as Oasis.
Here are the top 10 best British songs, according to the survey:
1. Live Forever - Oasis
2. Wonderwall - Oasis
3. Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis
4. I Am the Resurrection - Stone Roses
5. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
6. Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve
7. My Generation - The Who
8. I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys
9. London Calling - The Clash
10. Champagne Supernova - Oasis

This seems like a totally scientific and unbiased internet poll with absolutely no shenanigans giving one band 4 out of 10 spots.
